I'm a postdoctoral researcher at University College London and The Francis Crick Institute. My research focusses on the human lungs: I'm interested in the mechanisms that maintain lung health and how these go awry in lung diseases, particularly those associated with ageing.
My PhD research focussed on epithelial stem cell biology in the context of the lung. I maintain an active interest in this area with colleagues at UCL Respiratory and as a collaborator in the UK Regenerative Medicine Platform 'Engineered Cell Environment' Hub.
A Sir Henry Wellcome Postdoctoral Fellowship has allowed me to expand my research into human lung cancer models. I am generating and assessing intratumour heterogeneity in pre-clinical cancer models within Professor Charles Swanton's CRUK-funding clinical study TRACERx. My research aims to improve immunotherapy options for lung cancer patients. I have also been involved in a range of COVID-19 research at the UCL Institute of Child Health and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
I am currently chair of The London Stem Cell Network. You can find out more and become a member here.
